Find Your Hope

Wet cement sky
Swallows
Prayers going up,
But we are the ones hardened–
That is,
Love,
Until our souls recall
God isn’t trapped
Beyond the sky.

I woke up to the sound of wind and rain (and a cat vomiting). It put me in expectation of a gray, cheerless (hopeless) day. But the wind and rain were just the sound app on my phone, and cat vomit is easy to clean up.

Turns out, it’s quite a sunny day, and warm, and my chickens and goats love me, but not as much as my dog and cats do. My turtle thinks I’m an okay person so long as I bring an offering of lettuce.

Whatever you’re going through today, I encourage you to write through it and see if you can find some hope by rearranging the words just so.
